In spite of all our earth-bound woes, be it tsunami, earthquake or world pandemia, one should always remember of those staying beyond our planet. And yes, we mean the International Space Station, which accommodates 3 to 6 crew members on the missions for more than 20 years and who heavily rely on the assistance from the Earth.

American Orbital Sciences Corporation, owned by Northrop Grumman, for many years has cooperated with Yuzhnoye SDO under the project of development of Antares launch vehicle, which is ordered by NASA twice a year to ferry cargos to the ISS.

To prevent disruption of launch preparation of NG – 14 planned mission due to tightened quarantine measures, Northrop Grumman in coordination with Yuzhnoye SDO and Embassy of Ukraine in the USA organized the charter flight to Kiev to pick up Ukrainian specialists, involved in pre-launch processing activities for the cargo resupply mission scheduled on September 7, 2020.

Representatives of Northrop Grumman responded to the proposal of the diplomats from Embassy of Ukraine in the USA to pick up en route from Washington to Kiev 15 Ukrainian citizens, who got trapped in the USA due to quarantine measures. Special-purpose airplane had limited spaces and only those citizens, having urgent medical, financial or household predicaments, were boarded.

Yesterday our specialists have successfully arrived to the USA to proceed before long with the scheduled activities under the Antares project.
