On March 12, Yuzhnoye SDO participated in the first visiting meeting of the Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada committee on economic development.

At the meeting held in Dnepropetrovsk regional state administration, Ukrainian space industry was discussed in terms of its improvement and revival. Specific steps were determined during the meeting, which can give renewed impetus to the domestic enterprises.

Among such solutions was to recommend the Ministry of Economic Affairs and State Space Agency of Ukraine to find the additional financing to launch the Earth remote sensing satellite Sich-2-1. Satellite was developed and manufactured by Yuzhnoye SDO without budgetary funds, involving solely the money earned from commercial international contracts.

Alexander Bondarenko, Head of Dnepropetrovsk regional state administration, proposed to co-finance the satellite launch and to appropriate as early as this year 1-2 million US dollars from the regional budget.

So be Ukrainian satellite in orbit!
