Yuzhnoye SDO has passed governmental certification of scientific institutions, which according to Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine on scientific and technical activities is held for scientific institutions of state form of property at least once every five years in order to assess their efficiency.

Second year in a row certification is held in accordance with the Procedure of governmental certification of scientific institutions, approved by the Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution № 540 dated July 19, 2017, and in accordance with new rules – it is held by independent experts on the basis of common and transparent criteria with consideration of specific character of each institution.

Assessment is based on clear quantitative criteria, common for all. In particular, cost-effectiveness, human resources, research potential, publishing activities with scientometrics, used in the international system of examination, level of international cooperation etc. At the same time scientific and technical activities are assessed taking into consideration objectives of the scientific institution.

Expert commission on governmental certification of the scientific institutions gave certification grade to Yuzhnoye SDO on May 29, 2020, which placed it into the qualification group ІІ in the area of engineering sciences – «Stable scientific institutions and potential leaders in the specific areas of scientific achievements» and certified it for 3 years.

We would remind you that to keep the design of aerospace rocketry up-to-date Yuzhnoye SDO develops the system scientific activities, involving all available scientific and engineering potential of Ukraine and expanding international scientific ties. Whole range of joint research efforts, tackling actual tasks of aerospace industry, has been deployed within the framework of General Agreement on scientific and technological cooperation in the area of space rocketry development with the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, leading universities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, institutions of higher military education and research establishments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the same time Yuzhnoye SDO trains qualified scientific manpower and holds post-graduate courses, licenced as specialty 134 – Aviation and space technology. System to support scientific and innovative efforts of the employees has been developed and introduced.
