THE 71ST INTERNATIONAL ASTRONAUTIC CONGRESS ENDED
The 71st International Astronautic Congress (IAC), the biggest and the most authoritative international forum, which annually gathers space people to discuss the latest developments in space, came to an end.
This event, which was held on-line between October 12 and 14 due to COVID-19 pandemic, brought together heads of space agencies, scientists, engineers and specialists of the space related enterprises, representatives of the international organizations and core nongovernmental organizations.
This year everyone willing to participate got the unique opportunity to get involved in the congress activities free of charge with the corresponding motto: IAF Connecting @ll Space People. And there were more than 1300 from 135 countries of such «space people» who registered!
And traditionally Yuzhnoye SDO specialists participated and presented their research papers on the following topics:
- «Protection of launch facilities from the impact of the rocket engine plume»;
- «Vivarium module. General principles of building vivaria for space bases»;
- «Deformation mode of shells analysis and monitoring during manufacturing, 3D printing and welding»;
- «Reorientation of components to provide re-start of the main engine: calculation methods, numerical simulation and development testing»;
- «Integrated numerical simulation of the complex gasdynamic processes of the propulsion systems supersonic jets during LV launch with water supply system applied»;
- «Efficiency of the high-temperature generator pressurization of the LV tanks with condensed natural gas».
Online session of General assembly of the International Astronautical Federation took place on October 15 with Alexander Degtyaryov, Yuzhnoye SDO General Director and IAA academician participating.
As a recap, Alexander Degtyarev initiated Yuzhnoye SDO joining with the International Astronautical Federation in 2000. YSDO specialists are actively involved in two IAF Technical committees (Space transportation and Materials & Structures) and one Administrative committee (Links with the industry), as well as in activity of the International program committee.
