LAUNCH OF DNEPR LAUNCH VEHICLE WITH 32 SATELLITES AND FIRST UKRAINIAN NANOSATELLITE
On June 19, 2014 at 22:11 Kiev time, the commercial launch of the Dnepr launch vehicle with 32 satellites and first Ukrainian nanosatellite was performed from Yasny Launch Base (RF).
The spacecraft were injected into the calculated orbit.
The primary payload for this launch is the Republic of Kazakhstan’s KazEOSat-1 SC with mass of 177 kg. The SC is intended for Earth remote sensing with 6.5 meters resolution in multispectral mode.
The Deimos-2 (Spain), Hodoyoshi-3, Hodoyoshi-4 (Japan), SaudiSat-4 (Saudi Arabia), AprizeSat-9, AprizeSat-10 (USA), UniSat-6 (Italy), BRITTE-Toronto, BRITTE-Montreal (Canada), BugSat-1 (Argentina), TabletSat-Aurora (RF), and five QuadPack containers with nanosatellites of such countries as Belgium, Israel, Brazil, Denmark, and USA were also put into orbit. They are scientific, educational, and communication satellites with their primary objectives to conduct astronomical observations, measure stars luminous intensity, test the equipment in space, gain some experience, and support research and rescue operations within the framework of international cooperation.
The PoliITAN nanosatellite, developed by the National Technical University of Ukraine Kiev Polytechnic Institute, is a Ukrainian educational satellite designed for development test of engineering solutions and payload testing in space.
It was the twentieth launch of the Dnepr launch vehicle. As of today, the Dnepr launch vehicle has placed into the near-earth orbits 119 spacecraft for twenty nine countries, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, USA, England, Germany, Belgium, Israel, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Russia, Egypt, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Ecuador, and Argentina.
