Youth policy
cooperation agreements are concluded with industry’s principal institutes of higher education (DNU, NASU, KhAI) on training of specialists and joint scientific activities
senior students with good academic performance are hired as technicians (4-hour workday)
according to their work and scientific activities young employees are nominated for Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers scholarship, A.Makarov scholarship
young professionals with diploma cum laude are paid personal allowance
nonresident employees, who rent housing, receive partial lodging allowance
welfare benefits are given to young families

The company’s youth police is realized via a number of activities aimed at attracting and assignment of young workers, namely:

  Agreements on cooperation in preparation of specialists and joint scientific activities are concluded with basic institutes of higher education in respective branch;
  Students undergo practical, pregraduation training and certification;
  Senior-course students with high progress mark from chief institutes of higher education are employed to a position of a technician (4 h per day);
  Young specialists are trained with highly skilled specialists for a period of one year;
  Bonuses from material incentives fund are provided after graduation from higher, specialized secondary and vocational educational institutions;
  Personal bonuses are provided for young specialists having diploma with honors within 3 years after graduation from higher, specialized secondary and vocational educational institutions;
  Hostel payment is partially compensated for non-resident young specialists and young families who rent an apartment;
  Interest-free loans with repayment period up to 20 years in case of purchasing an apartment, built by the company, are provided for young specialists;
  Material assistance for a baby under one year is provided for young families;
  Material assistance is provided for young families for payment of preschool institutions and school nutrition;
  Assistance is provided in obtaining the interest-free loans for purchasing home appliances, furniture and etc.;
  Interest-free loans are provided for young workers who desire to get a higher education;
  One-time material assistance is provided for young workers owing to their marriage;
  “The best company’s young worker”, “The best young inventor and rationalizer” and “The best young worker in Ukrainian space branch” contests are held annually.

Based on the results of production and scientific activities the company’s young workers’ candidates are proposed for receiving a grant of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, personal grants named after A.M. Makarov and others.

Since 1999 the Young Specialists Board has been created and actively operated in the company. The Young Specialists Board unites young workers for qualitative fulfillment of their production tasks, expresses youth interests in the field of their professional activity, holds scientific, culture-public and sports events, organizes youth leisure and propagandizes healthy life-style.

The Board is an elective body, formed out of the company’s young employees and has been operating on a voluntary basis. The Board tackles its tasks by holding various youth events, for instance:

Holding different intellectual contests, where young employees come up with their alternate solutions to present-day managerial and engineering as well as production tasks of the rocket and space industry.
Themed tours to museums and exhibition halls of the rocket and space technology.
Participation of Yuzhnoye sportsmen in city, regional and interregional championships, among which are annual sports contest to be organized and held among young employees of Ukrainian space industry.
Arranging for participation of young employees in all kinds of cultural events, beginning from discotheques, exhibitions and tours, to large-scale festivals, such as talent contest Zvezdnyy start, which was held in spring 2017 on the basis of National Aerospace Educational Center of Youth (in the hall of the former movie theater Orion) and Techfest – a festival of science and state-of-the-art technology.
Apart from direct interaction with young employees through its structural units and primary boards, intranet youth web site was created and has been actively operating to deal with problems of information awareness and obtain information by Young Professionals Board.

Young Professionals Board of Yuzhnoye SDO does not only co-operates effectively with company administration in terms of the issues of youth policy, for tackling serious scientific and production tasks, but also contributes to transfer of the most valuable thing – human experience and knowledge from generation to generation, ensuring in this way intergenerational continuity.
