Dmytro Rozumkov, Chairman of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, visited Yuzhnoye SDO on November 20, 2019 within the framework of his working trip to Dnipro. Speaker of Parliament examined spacecraft assembly and electric tests shop, important aerospace developments for the Ukrainian army, high-tech pilot production workshops, held meetings with management and young employees of the enterprise.

Assembly of the flight models of Sich-2-1 (Earth remote sensing spacecraft) and scientific Micsosat-M (designed for multiband monitoring of the dynamic processes in the ionosphere) is under way at the spacecraft test and assembly facility.

Dmytro Rozumkov became familiar with Yuzhnoye SDO aerospace projects to develop launch vehicles and spacecraft. Among them Sich family of the Earth remote sensing satellites, Microsat scientific spacecraft, micro- and nanosatellites, advanced spacecraft for orbital maintenance, Cyclone-4M and Cyclone-1M advanced launch vehicles.

Chairman of Verkhovna Rada also visited production sites with high-tech equipment for multiaxis processing of large-size details made of polymer composite materials, checked the dyeing and drying room, 3D-printer to print irregular shape details out of thermoplastics and other equipment.

During the meeting with Yuzhnoye SDO young employees Dmytro Rozumkov discussed pressing problems of the enterprise and industry as a whole.

Speaker of Parliament inquired about the number of young employees at the enterprise, higher educational institutions YSDO cooperates with, whether students are employed here and other aspects of life of the youth.

Chairman of Verkhovna Rada also showed interest in Yuzhnoye SDO social policy, in particular, social housing scheme, and talked to those who have been allocated with accommodation in the apartment house that was recently put into service. Issue of the bill, registered in Verkhovna Rada, was also touched upon in the discussion. It concerns the utilization of the employees’ funds for house building, thus making it way cheaper and faster.

At the end of the visit, Dmytro Rozumkov observed that there is a lot of work ahead for the aerospace branch and voiced confidence in the effective cooperation of the Committee on Economic Development of Verkhovna Rada and Yuzhnoye SDO as the prime enterprise of the Ukraine’s aerospace industry.
