Yuzhnoye State Design Office and the Council of Young Specialists of Space Industry of Ukraine with support from the USA Embassy organized the meeting of young employees with  Randolph Breznik, an American astronaut, which took place on March 14 in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library.

Randolph Breznik flew in space twice and came to share his experience and impressions with the Ukrainian specialists. This was Breznik who was the second after the Ukrainian cosmonaut Kadenyuk to stream the Ukrainian flag in orbit. He visited the Museum of the National Center of Aerospace Education of Youth, signed hundreds of autographs and explained what attracts him in Ukraine.

During the meeting, Gennady Osinovy, a Yuzhnoye SDO specialist, presented the concept of industrial-and-research lunar base that received positive response from the American astronaut.

To the question from the audience about Randolph’s  wish  to become the first human being on the Mars the astronaut answered that he considers that before the humankind makes the first step on the Red Planet, we must at first return to the Moon to develop and test all required technologies for interplanetary flights, just as it was set forth in the Yuzhnoye SDO’s presentation.

In addition, Rabdolph agreed with the idea of Yuzhnoye SDO specialists that the global projects like exploration of the Moon and Mars can be implemented most likely in international cooperation.
