Yuzhnoye SDO has adopted an innovative technology that ensures a qualitative leap in pilot and serial production of rocketry. This technology is rotary drawing. It replaces the conventional methods of rocket cases manufacturing that require significant material consumption and time expenditures.

The rotary drawing machine shall produce case prototypes with different shapes of inner surface and without welds or key connections. Advantages of this technology are design simplification, weight reduction, increase of reliability and strength, designing and commissioning time saving, material saving, and significant cost-cutting in production process.

To achieve these goals Yuzhnoye SDO establishes a qualitatively new working area for producing the case parts from metallic materials. The basic equipment – namely a six-roll rotary drawing machine, a semiautomatic contour band machine, and a vacuum furnace – was purchased for money earned by Yuzhnoye SDO within commercial international contracts and without any budget funds. The working area shall provide maximally closed cycle for producing the rocket case parts.
