Round-table discussion was held in Yuzhnoye SDO that was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Interkosmos-1 spacecraft ascent – first spacecraft developed under the international program of cooperation.

Interesting reports were presented at the discussion, describing the history of Interkosmos program and development of the Interkosmos-1 spacecraft, technical and cooperation features in development and manufacturing of a series of solar research spacecraft.

Recalling lessons and invaluable experience, glorious history of victories and achievements of Yuzhnoye SDO, participants of the round-table discussion gave particular attention to the up-to-date satellite developments. Presently spacecraft subdivision develops satellites of surveillance, detailed and overdetailed optical observations of the Earth: Sich 2-1, Sich-2М and Sat4EO, scientific and technological satellites: Microsat and CubeSat, GS-1 and Aerosol-UA.

Among the advanced areas of the satellite subdivision are development of the orbital space airplane complex for reusable delivery of different cargos and crews to the low near-earth orbits; multi-purpose space cargo module for the orbital servicing of the client satellites (CS) (orbit inspection, transfer to the specified orbital slots, keeping in the specified orbital slots, completion of the insertion into the final orbits when satellite was mis-orbited, taking expired CS to the disposal orbit); geostationary communications satellite bus with electrojet propulsion system to be used for the development of the communications satellites placed into the geostationary orbit.

Participants of the round table wished the present-day satellite developers fresh productive ideas and successful clearing of the new space heights.
