On 26th of July in Lviv, companies and institutions based in Lviv region and Yuzhnoye State Design Office signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the space and defense industries. Research and educational institutions and companies of Lviv region approved the document at the coordination meeting that Yuzhnoye initiated, pursuing a goal of expanding cooperation between Ukrainian hi-tech companies.

At the meeting, Alexandr Degtyarev (General Director of Yuzhnoye State Design Office), Alexander Kushnar’ov (Yuzhnoye First Deputy General Designer–General Director for System Design), Vladislav Sidoruk (Yuzhnoye Head of Control and Telemetry Systems Department), and Konstantin Belousov (Deputy Chief Designer of Yuzhnoye Spacecraft Design Office) made a presentation about Yuzhnoye and proposed that companies of Lviv region could be involved in dealing with different matters of the industries together with Yuzhnoye.

The list of participants in Yuzhnoye enhanced cooperation counts today thirteen companies and institutions in Lviv: TECON-ELECTRON Separate Designers Office, SATS LLC, Market-MATS LLC, Lviv office of Space Research Institute, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Research and Design Institute for Electronic Measuring and Computer Techniques, GalProgres LLC, KONEKS Scientific Research Enterprise, Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Pidstryhach Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), state-owned enterprise LORTA Lviv State Plant, state-owned enterprise Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant, and state-owned enterprise Lviv Radio Repair Plant

As the Memorandum states, the main goal of the cooperation is to create an environment in which Lviv region companies could effectively apply and implement their scientific experience and technological expertise into Yuzhnoye’s advanced developments for meeting jointly the challenges of the space and defense industries.

The participants agreed to continue cooperation through holding conferences, assemblies and working meetings and concluding bilateral agreements.

Signing of the Memorandum is an important step in broadening the scientific and manufacturing cooperation between Ukrainian hi-tech companies and institutions for building state-of-the-art space and defense technology, on which Yuzhnoye has been working systematically in recent years.
