Project description
AVIONICS SYSTEM TESTS
Functional tests of avionics systems are conducted in quasi-operational environment.
The tests measure radiation characteristics of radio equipment antennas installed on board spacecraft, launch vehicles, and other RF systems. The tests are run in an anechoic chamber that simulates free space and protects the measurement data from external radio interference. The internal surfaces of the anechoic chamber are covered with a radiation-absorbent material.
The measurements use a parabolic collimation mirror, which forms a quasi-planar front of an electromagnetic wave in order to reduce the distance between the antenna under consideration and the measurement system antenna assembly.
The test bench is controlled and the measurement data are processed by a personal computer receiving the data on signals measured by the circuit analyzer and the information from the rotary support sensors.
Measurements and data processing are performed using specially developed software. A measurement system based on a high-frequency-circuit analyzer allows automatic recording of antenna gain-phase characteristic measurements and antenna gain.
