Technical meeting of Chief Designers was held on March 10 in Yuzhnoye SDO under the chairmanship of Volodymyr Taftai, Head of State Space Agency of Ukraine, to discuss urgent issues on readiness of Sich-2-1 spacecraft for launch in 2021.

Technical meeting was attended by the representatives of subcontracting companies – RPI Hartron- ARKOS, SMC Hartron-Ukom, CPB Arsenal, JSC NIIRI, SRC CONECS, as well as representatives of the National Center for Spacecraft Control and Testing, Ministry of Strategic Industries and ROG-SSAU.

Having heard and discussed the reports and presentations of the meeting participants on the current situation, it was noted that all works are performed in full scope and in accordance with the approved milestones schedule of Sich-2-1 space system development.

Issues of current financing of the Sich-2-1 project were also discussed. Taking into account the required terms of launch services advancing, technical meeting of Chief designers addressed SSAU and Ministry for Strategic Industries with request to make efforts and speed up signing of “Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolution on certain issues of Sich-2-1 space system development”.

As to the readiness of the Sich-2-1, to date Yuzhnoye SDO and subcontractors have completed the following:

developed design documentation, completed autonomous testing of subsystems, manufactured full-scale dynamic mock-up and held static and dynamic testing of the SC structure, manufactured and purchased domestic and foreign SC components, flight model assembled, 75 % of work on electro-radio engineering test program completed.
